Following an enriching orientation program, Interns will begin working on their day-to-day responsibilities, with support from colleagues serving as both instructors and mentors throughout the internship program. As a way to help maximize your experience with us, Interns will receive formal performance reviews.

What we look for in a candidate
We look for candidates who are eager to make an impact for our clients by doing real, hands-on work. Successful Jefferies Interns are able to multitask and manage a variety of projects simultaneously. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism and relationship management skills together with strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills. The work is fast paced, challenging, and intellectually stimulating. The ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, be adaptable, and work both independently and as part of a team are essential traits of a successful candidate. Candidates should have a strong academic background and be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent program.
Desired Background and Skills
Candidates pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2028
Programming or scripting experience in one or more of Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, SQL, Bash, PowerShell or VBA
Interest in platform reliability, site reliability engineering, information security, cloud, infrastructure, enterprise applications or automation
Exposure to Linux, Unix or Windows; databases; networking; virtualization; containers; Kubernetes; or cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
Familiarity with observability and DevOps practices, including Git, CI/CD, Prometheus, Grafana or related tools
Experience with APIs, data analysis, BI/reporting, workflow automation, Power Platform, UiPath or AI/ML is a plus
Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to learn quickly, collaborate in a fast-paced global team and focus on reliability, security, operational excellence and disciplined delivery

Summer Analyst and Associate Interns may be placed in one of the following teams: Platform Reliability Engineering and Management (PREM), CISO / Information Security, Infrastructure, or Corporate Technology.
PLATFORM RELIABILITY ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT (PREM)
PREM is responsible for the stability and resiliency of Jefferies’ front-to-back platforms and contributes to service reliability, system resiliency and firm-wide risk mitigation. The team applies Site Reliability Engineering principles across engineering and support, with a focus on automation, toil reduction, capacity management, operational excellence and platform health visibility through enterprise observability. Interns may work across distributed and cloud technologies and gain exposure to application and production support, quality engineering and SRE practices.
CISO / INFORMATION SECURITY
The Global Information Security organization protects Jefferies critical systems and sensitive information from internal and external cyber attacks through use of technology as well as efforts such as Cyber Data Analytics. The team develops and maintains security controls, monitoring capabilities, and cyber defense platforms that help safeguard the Firm’s technology environment while supporting regulatory and compliance requirements. Information Security professionals work across a broad range of disciplines including cyber engineering, threat detection and response, security operations, identity and access management, vulnerability management, cloud security, data protection, and cyber analytics.
INFRASTRUCTURE
Global Infrastructure builds, operates and maintains the technology backbone that enables Jefferies to function efficiently, securely and reliably. Key areas include networking, telecom and multimedia engineering; desktop, virtualization, messaging, Workplace AI and automation; cloud solutions and platforms; database, Unix, Windows Server and systems engineering; and data centers. The organization also advances cloud adoption, automation, workplace technology and network resiliency. Internship opportunities may include cognitive automation cloud engineering and server automation engineering.
CORPORATE TECHNOLOGY
Corporate Technology delivers platforms and solutions that support Jefferies’ global operations, including post-trade processing and settlement, enterprise data, compliance and legal technology, regulatory reporting, client onboarding, digitalization and automation, and Finance and HR technology. Interns may work on live projects involving software engineering, data and reporting, cloud platforms, workflow automation, API integrations, and AI/ML while collaborating with engineers, analysts and business partners across the Firm.

The salary for the Analyst role is $100,000 and Associate role is $120,000 (pro-rated for the 10-week internship program).
