Is your resume ready to be viewed by a recruiter, hiring manager and/or grad school? Will your resume rise to the top of the applicant pool and stand out among the rest? Career Services can help.
Before submitting a resume for an opportunity, all undergraduate and SPCS students must submit their resume for review using one of options below to earn the Resume Ready designation.
STEP 1 - Create your resume
Use our resume resources and be sure to follow the chronological resume rubric guidelines.
STEP 2 - S-C-O-R-E
OPTION 1: VMock
Create an account and upload your resume to our VMock AI tool and score in the green zone. You'll have 10 tries a semester to get your score to green.
OPTION 2: In Person
Make an appointment with an advisor or drop in weekdays at our drop-in locations:

Why are we requiring this process?
As the job market and graduate school admission processes become increasingly competitive, it is of paramount importance that Richmond students position themselves for career success.
All undergraduate and SPCS students are required to have their resume reviewed through one of our Resume Ready options before applying to the many exciting job, internship, and externship opportunities within Handshake.

I’m not an undergraduate or SPCS student, so does this apply to me?
Alumni and MBA students are able to apply for opportunities advertised in Handshake without completing the Resume Ready requirement, however they are encouraged to have their resume reviewed by making an appointment with our team.

What are the resources available to help me with my resume?
Career Services offers many resume resources, as well as workshops throughout the semester. You can also stop-by during drop-in hours, Monday - Friday, 2 – 4 p.m., to talk with a Career Services staff member.
