Drop-In Advising
Drop-in advising is available every weekday when classes are in session and is best suited for quick 10 - 15-minute questions. Peer advisors can help you review resumes, cover letters, conduct a personalized Handshake or VMock tutorial, and more.
You can “drop-in” to meet with a career advisor or peer advisor at any of these locations:
Tyler Haynes Commons 306 |
Monday – Friday, 2 – 4 p.m. ET |
Robins School of Business, Queally Hall 273 |
Monday – Thursday, 2 – 4 p.m. ET |
Queally Athletics Center |
Monday, 2 – 4 p.m. ET |
This year, in addition to our regular one-on-one drop-ins, we will also be offering "Guided Drop-Ins" discussing specific topics throughout the week. Come alone or bring a friend and learn alongside your peers!
See the "Guided Drop-In" schedule below:
- Mondays – Application Documents (Resume, Cover Letter, etc.)
- Tuesdays – LinkedIn & Networking
- Wednesdays – Interview Skills
- Thursdays – Job & Internship Search
- Fridays – Technology (Handshake, VMock, etc.) and Special Topics
To see what the special topic is for the day, check the sandwich board outside of THC. You are still welcome to bring any and all questions to drop-in advising on any day of the week.
If you need assistance, call (804) 289-8547 or stop by Tyler Haynes Commons (THC), Suite 306, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Arrival later than 10 minutes after the scheduled appointment start time will be considered a missed appointment. If you fail to follow this standard twice in an academic year (July 1 – June 30), you will not be permitted to schedule an advising appointment for the remainder of that academic year. If you need to cancel your appointment, you will need to do so at least 18 hours before the appointment start time. To review the full list of the professional standards of conduct, please reference the Student & Alumni User Agreement.
