Degree-seeking students in the School of Professional and Continuing Studies are eligible for career advising with the SPCS Career Consultant. This service is included among the benefits offered to degree-seeking students in the school.

Schedule an appointment
Your career consultant can help you explore careers, identify options, and create action plans. You can also strategize your job search, including resume reviews, mock interviews, and networking.

Career and Industry Exploration

Career Expos
These regular events feature representatives from over 50 employers in a variety of industries who are there to answer your questions and potentially recruit you for internships and full-time opportunities. 

VAULT Industry Research
Research different industries and career paths and get in-depth information about various fields by logging into SpiderConnect with your student ID and password. The link to the VAULT Career Insider is located under the opportunities tab.

SpiderConnect is the University of Richmond's online database that allows you to search opportunities and register for events.

Resource Library
Career publications and tip sheets are available at the Career Services office in 306 Tyler Haynes Commons and our online resource library.

UR Career Connections LinkedIn Group
This group provides an online environment for students and alumni to engage in networking focused on achieving their professional goals.

Career Management Process

Today’s knowledge-based economy requires people to be resilient and flexible in a continually changing workplace. To accomplish transitions more efficiently, it is important to take an active role in the Career Management Process. From re-evaluating interests to leveraging existing or building new skills, Career Services assists SPCS students in developing career strategies for continued success in the workplace. Make Your Appointment

  • Log in to SpiderConnect
  • Click on Calendar/Appointments > Schedule an Advising Appointment
  • Click "Request New Appointment"
  • Choose "Type" and/or "Advisor(s)"
  • Click "Check Availability"
  • Available times slots and advisors will appear on the right hand side. Select your appointment time by clicking on the advisor's name.
  • Complete the appointment form. You will receive a confirmation email.

If you are unable to meet with your advisor in person, skype and phone appointments are available.
