Career Services is Moving to Handshake

This summer, the University of Richmond Career Services team will be switching our Career Services Manager (CSM) from SpiderConnect (Symplicity) to Handshake! With over 1,400 college and university partners, as well as 650,000+ employers, Handshake is the number one way college students find jobs.

We will use Handshake for advising appointments, program registration, and more. It also serves as a database of curated job and internship opportunities, often sourced by Richmond alumni, specifically for Spiders.

You may be thinking, what do I need to do?

  • Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors - Download any documents you have saved in the system (resume, cover letter, etc.) that you'd like to keep. SpiderConnect will be no longer accessible after June 30, 2022.
  • All students (undergraduate, SPCS, and MBA) - Log in to your Handshake account using your Net ID. Once in, you can start updating your profile, making advising appointments, applying to jobs and internships, viewing upcoming programs and events, and more! Also, download the app for easy access on Apple or Google.

  • Alumni - If you have a Richmond.edu email address, you can create your Handshake account. Under the blue "Sign in with UR NetID" button, click "sign in with your email address." If you do not have a Richmond.edu email address, fill out this form to receive your NetID. Email your NetID (NOT YOUR PASSWORD) to Becca Shelton to create your account.

We’re excited about this change and we look forward to sharing more with you all in the coming months! Below are a few helpful tools to get you started in the system:
