Network with Students

Career Services is committed to connecting you with Richmond students through on-campus and virtual recruiting and networking events. Build your brand, connect with students, and promote your employment opportunities by participating in a Job & Internship Fair, as well as scheduling information sessions and office hours. Learn more about these and other ways to connect with our students by reviewing the sections below.

To protect the health of our visitors and campus community from COVID-19, in-person recruiting activities, events, and services may be subject to the University’s Physical Distancing Framework.

Job & Internship Fairs

Job & Internship Fairs remain the top way to connect with Richmond students and recent graduates at large. These events provide an opportunity to showcase your organization and available full-time jobs, internships, and externships, as well as build your talent pipeline and recruit Spiders.

Information Sessions and Events

Career Services offers on-campus and virtual information sessions and events for employers looking to engage with a smaller, targeted group of students. These events consist of an organized presentation or coordinated forum that Richmond students attend to learn more about an organization, employment opportunities, as well as the recruiting process and timeline. Information sessions and similar events can complement your interviews, Job & Internship Fair attendance, or they can be set up as stand-alone events. We recommend scheduling these events Monday – Thursday after 5:00 p.m. ET, with the exception of holidays, final exams, and University breaks.

If you want an engaging interactive event with Richmond students, consider hosting it in a University meeting space using our audio/visual equipment. Career Services can also host virtual events through the University’s Zoom technology or if you prefer to host your own virtual event through your organizations video conferencing platform, we will share the event details and URL link with our students. Engagement opportunities, such as information sessions and events will be promoted to students accordingly through various University marketing channels. Please submit your event request/information at least three weeks in advance to allow adequate time to coordinate logistics and promotion to students.

Office Hour Meetings

If you are looking to build stronger rapport with Richmond students, Career Services offers office hours. During these one-on-one informational meetings, students gain greater understanding of your industry, organization, and specific employment opportunities as well ways to develop professional skills and experience. Office hour meetings can complement interviews, information sessions, Job & Internship Fair attendance, or they can be set up as stand-alone events.

Employers/organizations can choose to hold their office hour meetings with students either on campus in the University’s Queally Center Career Services interview suite or virtually via video conferencing. For on-campus meetings, you will have access to private professional interview rooms, as well as free parking, Wi-Fi, and lunch. Virtual meetings will be conducted through the University’s Zoom video conferencing technology.

Whether your office hours are on campus or virtual, Career Services removes the time-consuming task of having to coordinate a meeting schedule. Through our online recruiting platform, Handshake, we will arrange a schedule that best accommodates your plans. Meetings are held Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. ET with the exception of holidays, final exams, and University breaks, and are scheduled in either 15, 20, or 30-minute sessions.

Office hour meetings are available to you at no cost; however, requests must be submitted at least three weeks in advance to allow adequate time for logistic coordination and promotion to students.
