Network with Students

Career Services is committed to connecting you with Richmond students through recruiting and networking events.  Usually conducted on Richmond’s picturesque campus throughout the academic year, all spring 2021 recruiting/networking events will be conducted virtually to keep everyone healthy and safe. Build your brand, connect with our students, and promote your employment opportunities by participating in a virtual Spider Career Expo (i.e., career fair), as well as scheduling virtual information sessions and Office Hours. Learn more about these and other ways to connect with our students.

Spider Career Expos

Spider Career Expos (i.e. career fairs) remains the top way to connect with Richmond students and recent graduates at large. By attending Expos, you are able to showcase your organization and available employment/internship/externship opportunities, as well as build your talent pipeline and recruit Spiders.

This year, the spring Spider Career Expo will be held virtually on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. ET. For Expo information and to register for the University's largest recruiting event, click here

Information Sessions/Events

Career Services offers virtual information sessions/events for employers looking to engage with a smaller, targeted group of students. An information session/event is an organized presentation or coordinated forum (e.g., open house, panel discussion, etc.) that Richmond students attend to learn more about an organization, employment opportunities, as well as the recruiting process and timeline. These events can complement your interviews, Spider Career Expo attendance, or they can be set up as stand-alone events. We recommend scheduling these events Monday – Thursday usually after 5:00 p.m. ET, when most students have completed classes for the day. As with all employer engagement opportunities, we will promote these events to Richmond students through various University marketing channels.

New for the 2020-2021 academic year, information sessions/events with Richmond students will be conducted virtually through either your organization’s video conference platform or the University’s, at no cost. If your organization already has a prepared event (e.g. PowerPoint slides, panelists, etc.), as well as video conferencing capability, submit your logistical information to Career Services and we will promote your event to our students. If you have an event prepared, but require video conferencing technology, Career Services is able to provide you with Zoom to conduct your event. Please submit requests via SpiderConnect at least three weeks in advance to allow adequate time to coordinate logistics, promotion to students, etc.

For more information on information sessions/events, please contact the University of Richmond’s Career Services Employer Relations team at or (804) 662-3032.

Office Hour Meetings

If you are looking to build stronger rapport with Richmond students, Career Services offers Office Hours. During these one-on-one informational meetings, students gain greater understanding of your industry, organization, and specific employment opportunities as well ways to develop professional skills and experience. Office Hour meetings can complement interviews, information sessions, Spider Career Expo attendance, or they can be set up as stand-alone events.

New for the 2020-2021 academic year, Office Hours are held virtually via Zoom. Career Services coordinates the meeting schedule and technology on your behalf. Meetings are held Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. ET and are scheduled in either 15, 20, or 30-minute sessions.

Office Hour meetings are available at no cost; however, requests must be submitted via SpiderConnect at least three weeks in advance to allow adequate time for logistic coordination, promotion to students, etc.

For more information about Office Hour meetings, please contact the University of Richmond’s Employer Relations team at or (804) 662-3032.
